rust speedtest app
The Pupa Clic developers have worked with many niche tech stacks in the past, which also includes the upcoming standalone executable language RUST. Creating custom developed modules in OpenWRT lead to implementing a speedtest implementation system which allows us to monitor and measure available network bandwidth to the connected router networks.
A RUST based implementation was developed to invoke the speedtest CLI from within the router thereby allowing us to identify individual performance metrics. RUST was chosen as the end deployed footprint was within 3mb which was 4 times smaller than the existing Python implementation.
